Uncompahgre Portrait

Uncompahgre Wilderness, Colorado, 2014

At 14, 309', the summit of Uncompahgre Peak is the highest point in Colorado's majestic San Juan Range and the sixth highest point in the state.  As we gained the summit, this storm gathered to the north and west, providing both drama to the already spectacular view and a few snow flurries.  Fortunately, there was no lightning, and the clouds had almost completely broken up by the time we descended the summit massif.  Photo by Crystal Owens.
