Moon Face and Regulus
Targhee National Forest, Idaho
During the 2017 eclipse's totality, while looking up in near disbelief, I was also blazing away with my camera's remote shutter release, bracketing exposures as much as +/- 4 stops. This (over)exposure at +4 stops captured detail on the moon's face, something I did not expect at all. The bright dot down and to the left of the sun/moon is Regulus, part of the constellation Leo.
