I made this image on the good-weather day of our visit to Iceland. I've spent a lot of time in the mountains over the last 17 years, but I had never seen weather change as quickly as it did during this hike. Snow washed over us like waves before yielding to sunshine and blue sky in cycles each only a few minutes long. The body of water in the background is Hvalfjörður (whale fjord), where whales are seen often. Photo © copyright by Greg Owens.
